I’ve had my SLR for 3-4 months now - but I will openly admit that I’m still fairly unfamiliar with all of its functionality. I posted a question on “365 Project” and someone posted a link to this site. I found this page and it has tons of excellent info on ways to use the different functions on SLR cameras. I strongly suggest this info page to any SLR newbie!
Wow, so I haven’t posted on here for a LONG time! Since my last post a lot has happened. I moved to Michigan, started my internship with Marathon, finally bought a DSLR camera, and figured out my last semester of classes! My internship is going really well - I’m really enjoying everything that they have me doing, and I’m out actually doing stuff and not sitting behind a desk which is very nice.
I also surprisingly really like Michigan a lot - I always had a bad impression of it but I like it! There are plenty of places here to take pictures with my new camera, which is amazing! I’m so happy that I was finally able to afford it. I’ve been going out taking pictures trying to get some practice as I haven’t really done much with photography lately!
That’s about it in a nutshell - lots of stuff keeping me busy, but I’m having a good time nonetheless! Hopefully I won’t wait so long to post again next time!
So my computer got fried in last weekend’s storms, so I had to get a new one. I took it to the Answer Factory in Bowling Green, and they were going to charge me $450 to replace the motherboard, and said they had no way to test the other parts to see ahead of time if they were bad. I took my computer to a place called CyberSolutions in North Baltimore, and they basically rebuilt my computer for $340. Basically, I’m trying to say don’t go to the Answer Factory, and do go to Cyber Solutions!
If we could see the miracle of a single flower clearly, our whole life would change.
Things were pretty busy for a while, but have finally slowed down. I’ve actually had time to just relax and not have to worry about anything! Not much else is going on - one more week of classes, and then finals week! I’m excited to be done with this semester.
I do have a goal for the summer, and that’s to take more pictures. It has been a really long time since I have taken pictures just for fun, and I definitely miss it. I was just looking through old pictures I’ve taken and realized how much I love it.
Not a whole lot else to say!
Summer is quickly approaching, and with that are a lot of memories and feelings too. My first summer in BG was the best one I’ve ever had - I got to spend a ton of time with some really great friends and just had a great time. Now that summer is on its way here, I’m nostalgic - I really miss being laid back like that and having a lot of fun.
I feel like I’ve really made myself too busy to the point where I kind of forgot about having fun too. I’m really nervous about graduating and finding a full-time job right our of school, which is a large part of the reason I have made myself so busy with a job, an internship, and classes. I feel like I have to do those things to get ahead. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not upset that I did those things - I just wish I could do them with less stress and with more fun.
Through all of these feelings, I’ve decided that this summer is a summer to have fun and to make memories, because this is the last summer that I’m in college. I’m taking a few classes and working at the bookstore over the summer - so I’ll be a little busy, but not as busy as I have been. I can have fun with friends and relax a little bit. I’m really excited for summer and can’t wait to see what memories come from it!
Life is a crazy thing, and it goes by so quickly. So many changes can happen in such a short amount of time, and it seems insane! Therefore, I thought I’d give my two readers an update of my life.
The last day of my internship was yesterday! I got a lot of experience there and learned a lot, but I was definitely ready for a break. Between school, work, and that internship, I felt like I was always on the go and didn’t have much time to be a true college student - to have free time during the day; to be able to hang out with friends while its light outside; or to be able to even do homework during the afternoon.
I also just signed a lease for an apartment for the summer, which I’m really excited about. My apartment is in the a complex where one of my friends used to live, and there are a lot of great memories of the place. It is also really close to campus and to the downtown area, so I can walk everywhere, get exercise, AND save some money!
There hasn’t been much else happening that is noteworthy. I’m now just able to get more accomplished school-wise, which will be a nice change!
Don’t wait for extraordinary opportunities. Seize common occasions and make them great.
